The St. Louis Green Business Challenge is a program organized by the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association to help St. Louis area companies take the first steps toward sustainable business practices.

The Challenge is open to all RCGA-member companies. The RCGA is the chamber of commerce and economic development organization for the St. Louis metropolitan region. For more information on joining the RCGA, click here for the membership packet.

 

The Challenge runs from February to October 2011 with teams completing a scorecard measuring their achievements in six areas:

  • Forming Company Green Teams
  • Increasing Energy Efficiency
  • Improving Indoor Environmental Quality
  • Reducing Waste
  • Conserving Water 
  • Providing Clean Transportation Options

During the year, seminars and events will be held at the RCGA to help the company's green teams on their sustainability strategies. Staff from the EarthWays Center, a division of the Missouri Botanical Garden, serve as consultants to the St. Louis Green Business Challenge and provide advice to the green teams.


A recognition event was held on  December 6, 2011 to honor participating companies in the St. Louis Green Business Challenge
